Terry Willshire has been a patient of Dr. Robert Borek for over 20 years, and this year she submitted this heartfelt nomination for Sarnia-Lambton’s 2013 Patients’ Choice Awards:
‘I just want to say that Dr. Robert Borek is a wonderful family doctor. I have been going to him for over 20 years and my children still go to him as well. He goes the extra mile to make sure problems you have are taken care of. He takes the time to fully listen to what you have to say and he will let you explain everything to him about your problem. It’s very important to me that he listens because nowadays not all doctors will listen to you, they just throw a prescription at you and you are on your way.
I also live on a limited income, so Dr. Borek makes sure to prescribe things to me that are covered by my drug card so that I can have the medication I need.
Over the years, I have found that he goes that extra mile to make sure you are happy with your outcome. For years I fought with my son’s pediatrician because he diagnosed him with ADHD and I knew that wasn’t the problem. I talked to Dr. Borek and he had further tests done on my son in London and we found out that my son had Central Auditory Processing Disability. That is a far cry from ADHD! Dr. Borek was the only one that would listen to me when it came to my son and I’m thankful that he did so, so that my son was treated properly.
A lot of my family goes to Dr. Borek because I highly recommend him. He is a wonderful doctor with a heart of gold who actually listens and that makes the biggest difference.’
