Toronto, October 8, 2015 – Patients Canada’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Chrystine Langille has been selected as its new Executive Director.
Professionally, Chrystine brings 30 years of related executive experience to the role, including most recently the leadership of Ontario’s Association of Naturopathic Doctors, dedicated to patient-centred care and the patient’s voice. Personally, Chrystine is deeply committed to Patients Canada’s vision through her own journey as a patient and as an experienced caregiver and advocate.
The Board’s search for an Executive Director followed the stepping down of Founder Sholom Glouberman from his role as President. The Board, staff and community of volunteers and Patient Advisors have the greatest respect for the vision and passion Sholom has demonstrated founding this important organization, which aims to engage patients and families as active participants in the transformation of Canada’s healthcare system.
“Our aim remains to ensure the patient and caregiver voice is being brought to the table at all levels of healthcare policy, planning and delivery,” said Board Chair, Michael Decter. The Board and I have tremendous confidence in Chrystine’s ability to grow and develop the organization so we can continue to be a voice that fosters meaningful health system change.”
Patients Canada thanks Sholom for his contributions to the organization, and to the healthcare system as a whole over his many years as a vocal advocate for an improved patient experience.
