Patients Canada applauds the appointment of Christine Elliott as Ontario’s first Patient Ombudsman

Toronto, December 10, 2015 – Today Ontario’s Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC) announced the appointment of Christine Elliott as Ontario’s first Patient Ombudsman.

As a national organization that champions a health care system that works for patients, we at Patients Canada are pleased to see the Government of Ontario take this important step to better meet the needs of Ontario’s patients who have unresolved concerns about their health care experience.

“We are delighted that Christine Elliott, a dedicated public representative and advocate, was selected as Ontario’s Patient Ombudsman,” says Michael Decter, Board Chair of Patients Canada. “We are also pleased to have been involved in the selection process and look forward to partnering with Ms. Elliott to raise the voice of Ontario’s patients.”
