Patients Canada worked with the Ontario Medical Association (OMA) on the selection committee of the Patients’ Choice Awards in Timmins and Sarnia-Lambton. These awards were provided to physicians who went beyond the call of duty in providing care to their patients. In Timmins, two local doctors were recognized by their patients. In Sarnia-Lambton, Patients Canada received 50 nominations, and three local doctors were recognized by their patients. For the first time, patients presented both awards to the winning doctors. Both the family physician and specialist winners displayed impeccable teamwork in coordinating appointments together and were patient, professional, empathetic and quick to respond to thier patient issues.
